The Realty Network GMAC Real Estate began as The Realty NetWork in 1998 as one of Portland’s first “virtual office” concepts - providing a centralized, quality office location for Brokers who work primarily out of their home. For over a decade we have been dedicated to providing an ever-evolving spectrum of enhanced real estate services to keep our agents ahead of the market. In 2005 we began our affiliation with GMAC Home Services. This enabled us to greatly increase our market influences and add even more depth to our companies Value Proposition by offering our clients a Premier Service experience and an array of Home Services.
While locally owned and managed as a quality boutique-style real estate brokerage in the heart of Northwest Portland, we are also able to utilize our name recognition to access an international market share through the GMAC brand.
We have succeeded in forming a Hybrid business model that is a refreshing approach to the greater Portland marketplace.
GMAC Home Services
In 1998, GMAC Home Services, a division of GM Corp., purchased Better Homes & Garden Real Estate, one of the nation’s largest real estate franchises, from Meredith Corp.
GMAC Home Services, under the direction of longtime industry veteran John Bearden, was then positioned to bring the gamut of home services to real estate brokers, sales associates and consumers. As a result of the vast resources, GMAC Home Services brought added services and cost savings to consumers and an industry that’s long been promised, “one-stop shopping.”
Those services range from cost savings on vendor services and product for sales associates, to providing home buyers with the essential home services they want and need - such as mortgages, insurance and more.
GMAC Real Estate:
GMAC Real Estate has 1,300 franchised and company-owned real estate offices throughout the United States and Canada. The company has more than 20,000 sales associates who, in 2001, were responsible for more than $40 billion in sales volume and nearly 100,000 transaction sides.

In just four years, GMAC Global Relocation Services, based in Warren, N.J., has quickly grown to become the world’s third-largest global relocation and assignment management company. GMAC Global Relocation Services’ clients include more than 14,000 transferring employees from some of the world’s most recognized firms.
